So this week it’s been a particularly busy one on the vinyl front.
Kendrick Lamar’s modern-day classic “To Pimp A Butterfly” is finally getting a release on vinyl come October via Fat Beats and Bull Moose, which should appease anyone hoping to hear some sweet crackle over Kendrick’s poetic musings.
Jay-Z’s “Magna Carta Holy Grail” will also get the 12″ treatment, thanks to TIDAL partner Jack White and his Third Man Records, where vinyl lovers will be able to access a secret hidden track that was left off the album.
“Most exciting about this double LP is certainly the concealed postcard flexi disc hidden within the back cover and only accessible to those willing to take a knife to the iconic packaging. Once freed of its casing, this flexi disc plays a super secret hidden track.”
Interesting…
And finally, Universal have decided to jump on the bandwagon and give collectors another chance to grab some of the most seminal Hip-Hop records from Def Jam, Interscope, Priority and Virgin Records, all with a fresh new look and sound.
